Summer @ Southpoint

Thanks again to everyone who helped make FunFest ’08 a success! A special thanks to Stacey and Karolyn for all their work leading up to the event. Also, thanks to our community sponsors: Mary’s Garden; Starbucks Coffee; Giant’s Hockey; Southpoint Save On Foods; Peninsula Safeway; Southpoint Children’s Centre; Select First Aid; Surrey Firehall #17; Anna Vandas and friends Music. Also, the Peace Arch News team was very helpful with advertising and we appreciate the use of the space at Morgan Elementary.

And, of course, the team of willing Southpoint volunteers, many of whom showed up at 8am and didn’t leave until 4pm! We will post pics from the event soon!

We will continue to gather for Sunday worship in the ‘Upper Room’ at Morgan Elementary during the summer months. The gatherings will be unplugged, simple and participatory as we engage in the classic spiritual disciplines while reading through the story of Acts.

Also, every Tuesday at 7:30pm we plan to gather for discerning prayer at the Hardy home (unless otherwise noted). Our purpose is to carve out a place and time to hear updates from Pete about the coffee house exploration and to listen to God through times of prayer.

There are also a couple of bbq’s, a camping trip and, of course, our El Salvador mission trip to anticipate this summer! More information is in the summer letter.
