“Christ’s love compels us”
2 Cor 5:14
We are a people who have tasted the refreshing water from the well of Jesus’ love. We are a people who have experienced the wide warm welcome of God’s table. We are a people who have experienced the Spirit moving in us, guiding us into understanding the inclusive nature of God’s heart.
Now, many of us feel compelled by love to share this love with others who need it. We want others to know that a wide warm welcome awaits them in God’s heart. We want to participate in the divine flow, sharing with others what we have received, and receiving from others that which God has shared with them. We don’t want to be an insular community, but a community that is open and porous to whatever new thing the Spirit is growing in us.
The world of today speaks a whole different language than it did when Southpoint was founded 20 years ago. It’s the language of colour, font, images, photos, music, video clips, songs. It is a rich and creative language, universally accessible, where ideas are embodied in creative forms. Compelled by love, we have asked Dani to help us learn this new language, so that we are more adept at sharing who we are, and our experience of God’s love with those who need to be gathered up and held in this welcoming love. This past Sunday, Dani shared her rebrand with us, and received not one, but two, rounds of applause for the way she represented us. We’ll be sending her presentation to our Southpoint regulars. If you don’t receive an email later this week from Karin, please let her know you’d like it (email).
Deep peace and blessing,
Anne

New to Southpoint?
At Southpoint, it all begins with God’s love. Just as a plant grows, it receives sunshine, so we grow as we receive God’s love. At Southpoint, we are growing in our capacity to love God, ourselves, one another, and Creation.
We seek to be a community of grace that is intentional yet organic, spacious yet authentic, grace-filled yet accountable. * We are fully welcoming. *
We encourage relationships rather than run programs, yet we recognize the importance of intentionality and structure as we nurture life together.
As a community, we seek to put our love in action. We value helping out on Sunday mornings, sharing food, and showing up in hard times. We keep our church life simple so folk have time to build relationships with family, friends, and neighbours. We encourage folk to serve in tangible ways within the wider community. We rent space rather than own a building, allowing us to do more with less, supporting missions at home and abroad.
