Southpoint News April 11, 2016

REMEMBERING ROB
On Wednesday, April 6th, 2016 Rob Des Cotes peacefully made the passage from death into Life. On Tuesday, there will be a graveside service for Rob and Ruth’s family.  As Rob desired, there will be two services of celebration for his life, one at Fairview and one at Southpoint.  The first memorial service will be this weekend at Fairview for those based in Vancouver.  Rob’s desire was to have a second service at Southpoint for the Southpoint and A Rocha communities yet open to all.  This second service will be May 1st on Sunday morning @ 11:30.  The sanctuary of Fairview, like Southpoint, is small and there will be many folk who wish to attend. I ask that you be sensitive to this as you consider the weekend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that gifts in memory of Rob’s life are made to Imago Dei or the educational programs of A Rocha.

Through Words…

Sarah Wildeman will be putting together a booklet for Ruth and the family.  Here is a brief description from Sarah about her vision for this book:

I have acquired a scrapbook for us to document our stories and memories and thoughts. The hope is that it would be blessing to each of us as we reflect on experiences we’ve shared with Rob, and that it would then in turn be a blessing to Ruth and her family as a keepsake to be reminded of the incredible ways Rob’s life influenced the A Rocha and Southpoint communities.

The book, supplies (pens/paper/glue) etc will be laid out in the Main house starting this afternoon for people to start adding contributions. It will also be present at Southpoint on Sunday mornings the next couple of weeks. Feel free to write something ahead of time and glue it in, or just come and write on one of the provided pieces of paper. You can contribute as many items as you would like!!

The past two years we’ve spent Good Seed Sunday at Brooksdale Environmental Centre planting onion sprouts.  It’s good fun fit for all ages.  Come to 19353 16 Ave, Surrey, BC from 10-12 am. If the weather is fine, bring a bag lunch and stay after for a picnic:)
